The Breathing
Places campaign has been set up to to make it easier to find
out about the wildlife that lives near us and to do something
practical to help nature where we live.
Inspired by the millions of people who watch
British wildlife programmes, the BBC has teamed up with hundreds
of organisations to create Breathing Places across the UK. Breathing
Places are areas that have been transformed by local people, creating
an oasis for people and wildlife. A Breathing Place is somewhere
where you can escape the hassles of everyday life, listen to the
birdsong, smell the primroses and bluebells in spring and appreciate
the autumn colours!
Aggregate Industries is supporting The Wildlife
Trust’s role in the BBC Breathing Places campaign which aims
to inspire millions of people to get involved with nature. A leader
in the construction and building materials sector, Aggregate Industries
has been awarded the British Standards Institution award for ‘Most
Innovative Organisation’ in recognition of its commitment
to environmental management across its UK operations.
Aggregate
Industries’ support for The Wildlife Trusts is helping
develop the Communities campaign for Breathing Places which encourages
local people to transform thousands of places across the UK for
the benefit of wildlife and people.
