PRESS RELEASE April 27 2006

BRUSHES AT THE READY!

As the weather warms, springs new growth is bursting forth in pristine perfection. If you’ve ever wanted to capture that fresh beauty on paper but were not sure how to go about it, now is your chance to learn. On the 6th of May, local artist Lizzie Harper will be giving guidance and instruction in how to paint and draw wildflowers in an all day workshop aimed at beginners.

Lizzie is an enthusiastic lover of nature and has been a freelance natural history illustrator for ten years. She has a zoology degree and has just finished a two-year contract for Harper Collins, working on illustrations for their new guide to the flowers of Britain and Northern Europe. Her skill, experience and passion for the subject make this a wonderful opportunity for amateur artists to learn.

Many examples of her work can be seen interpreting the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust nature reserves. This full day event is taking place at the beautiful Cwm Byddog reserve, just outside Clyro. This fascinating woodland is home to a wide variety of our native flowering plants and will provide plenty of inspiration.

If you would like to join Lizzie for the day and create your very own masterpiece to take home, contact the RWT to make a booking. The cost of the days teaching and materials is £30.00 (£20.00 RWT members).
